Friday, mid-day, Sensata workers learned the plant was closing and all weekend shifts cancelled. Several workers were told that the sudden lockdown was due to the Ed Show broadcasting live from Bainport and Saturday’s appearance by the Reverend Al Sharpton.
As of Saturday afternoon the plant remains on lockdown and no workers have been called in for weekend shifts.
One longtime worker noted that the Sensata facility “didn’t close after 9/11” and expressed surprise that the attention Bainport was receiving over the weekend would cause a closure.
